The last year has certainly been a challenging one. With all the ups and downs we have all experienced, it has certainly made all of look at things differently and take stock of what’s important to us.
That certainly has been the case here at Malama Bath Body & Home. Over the last several months we’ve spent a great deal of time reflecting on the products we make, and how to make them better. We already strive to make the world a little better by doing things such as using packaging that is made from 100% recycled material, or reusing shipping material such as packing peanuts, or bubble wrap in our own shipments to customers. As they say, “Reduce, reuse, recycle.”
Now we’re excited to announce we’re making a major push to source our ingredients to certified organic materials whenever possible. We’ll be including organic oils like jojoba, macadamia, coconut, avocado. We've even sourced suppliers that make such things as organic honey, and beeswax (both made on the Big Island of Hawai‘i, by the way) — there hasn't been a single recipe we use that we didn't look at for organic options.
Not all of the ingredients we use can be certified organic, but we will always keep looking for that option should they come available.
The change will happen slowly over the next couple of months as we make new batches, and finish sell off the existing products we currently have on stock. Don’t worry—all of our products will stay the same, they’ll just be even better for you!
We're also excited to announce we are exploring making products for men, which we hope to have ready by the time Father's Day rolls around. We've got shaving soaps, mustache waxes, beard oils, and other grooming products in testing now, and we can't to share them with you.
It's going to be exciting to offer all these new products this year, and we want to thank you for buying from us. We truly hope you enjoy the products we make, and we look forward to bringing more good things to you.
